Served as Private in Royal Norfolk Regiment, 4th Battalion, until capitulation. Captured Singapore Feb 1942 imprisoned on the Changi Peninsula then forced to work on Bukit Timah Camp, built Japanese Shrine. Transported overland to Thailand Nov 1942 to work on Thai Burma Death Railway and camped at Tarsao, Tamaran, Pratichai and eventually liberated from Thailand Aug 1945.
